Rules and Regulations

  1. Northgate Mall wants to send you and someone who is “Close to your Heart” on an all inclusive vacation to Panama!  All you have to do is submit your inspiring story in 250 words or less along with a photo of you and the person “Closest to your Heart” to Northgate Mall Customer Service before Friday, January 20, 2012 at 5:00pm.  No purchase is necessary and only one entry per person. 
  2. From all eligible entries, ten (10) finalists will be selected based on the merit of their story of who is “Closest to your Heart”.  A random draw from the 10 selected finalists will take place on Friday, January 27th with the winner being awarded the Grand Prize (an all inclusive trip for two, to Panama).  As well, the ten finalists will have their inspiring stories posted online at www.bigdog927.com where the public will be invited to vote for the People’s Choice Award.  The winner of the People’s Choice Award as determined by the online voting will win a wonderful prize package from Ben Moss Jewellers. 
  3. Employees of Redcliff Realty Management, AAA Security, contract employees of Redcliff Realty Management including Omni Facility Services Canada Corp and Jones Accounting, employees of Northgate Mall Tenants, Astral Media and their immediate family are NOT eligible to win the grand prize.
  4. There is no exchange or cash value for the Grand Prize and must be taken as awarded.
  5. In order to qualify for the prize, the entry form must be completely filled out. Partial or incomplete registrations will be disqualified.
  6. All entries must be received no later than 5:00pm Friday, January 20, 2012. 
  7. If the Grand Prize winner is under the age of 18 years, then the grand prize must be claimed by a legal parent or guardian who is 18 years of age or older and both persons traveling to Panama must be 18 years of age or older. 
  8. WINNER OF THE GRAND PRIZE MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL ON FEBRUARY 13, 2012 TO FEBRUARY 20, 2012.  WINNER AND TRAVELLING COMPANION MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF A VALID PASSPORT BY MONDAY, JANUARY 30, 2012 TO TRAVEL.  IF PROOF OF A VALID PASSPORT IS NOT PROVIDED BY THE SPECIFIED DATE THEN THE GRAND PRIZE WILL BE FORFEITED AND WILL BE AWARDED TO AN ALTERNATE WINNER. 
  9. All entries become the property of Northgate Mall, Astral Media, and prize sponsors and will not be returned.  By completing and entering a ballot, each entrant consents to the retention, and internal use, of ballot conformation by Northgate Mall, Astral Media, and prize sponsors for purposes of improved customer focus and market sensitivity. 
  10. Contest winner will be announced on Big Dog 92.7 on January 27, 2012.
  11. Contest is subject to applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.
  12. Contest winner agrees to acknowledge the non-responsibility of Northgate Mall, Astral Media, their merchants and their respective agents with respect to injury, accident, loss, or misfortune relating to all aspects of the promotion.
  13. No substitution will be made for the prize offered. The prize is non-refundable, non-transferable to another person (unless the winner is under the age of 18 years) or to cash, and non-negotiable.
  14. If there is any doubt as to the eligibility of an entrant or of the manner in which an entrant wins a prize, the contest organizers shall decide the issue and such decision with respect to all aspects of this contest shall be final.  Entrants using any scheme, information or method to win any prize, which, in the sole opinion of the contest organizers, gives other than a fair chance, will be disqualified and lose the right to claim the prize to which they otherwise would have been entitled.
  15. By entering this contest, all entrants acknowledge having read the rules and regulations, agree to be bound by them, agree to the use of his or her name, photography and potential appearance in any related publicity without further compensation, and agree to be contacted by mail or electronic mail of any future promotions conducted by Northgate Mall or Astral Media.
  16. Northgate Mall and Astral Media reserves the right to withdraw, amend or terminate this contest and prizes at any time, without notice.
  17. Northgate Mall and Astral Media take no responsibility for entries or claims disqualified, lost, destroyed, misdirected or delayed.  Astral Media, Northgate Mall or its individual Merchants, its directors, officers, employees and agents shall not be responsible for any contest entries that are, for any reason, whatsoever lost, misplaced or destroyed.
  18. Winner may be asked to present photo ID to Northgate Mall Customer Service to be eligible to win.
  19. In the event of non-compliance with these rules and regulations by a potential contest winner, an alternative winner may be selected.
