Album Review

A dozen classic blues performances from the bursting-at-the-seams riches of the Chess vaults. A pair each from Howlin' Wolf ("Back Door Man" and "Little Red Rooster") and Sonny Boy Williamson ("Your Funeral and My Trial" and "Bring It on Home") are rounded out with equally stellar cuts from Muddy Waters, Koko Taylor, Little Milton, Etta James, John Lee Hooker, Otis Rush, and Elmore James. Together, they amounts to a pretty garden variety song selection, but if you don't have any, or most, of these tracks, it's well worth picking up.
