Sony U.K.'s Steel Box Collection series of Greatest Hits compilations is not particularly special. The packaging -- not all that fancy, really -- is a way to dress up a budget line that, in most cases, offers a mere sampling of a particular artist's hit singles. The Earth, Wind & Fire edition features ten songs, most of which are significant, yet it's not as if number-one A-sides are given preference; there's no apparent logic behind the selections. There's simply too much essential missing content to make this an above-average release -- even with the presence of "Shining Star," "September," and "Boogie Wonderland."
