Edsel's No Bad Talk or Loud Talk 1977-'81 is an exhaustive, 18-track collection that culls many highlights from his first five albums, including "Honky Tonk Masquerade," "Fingernails," "Tonight I Think I'm Gonna Go Downtown," "Treat Me Like a Saturday Night," "Maria," "Musta Notta Gotta Lotta," "Suckin' a Big Bottle of Gin," and "She Never Spoke Spanish to Me." While Honky Tonk Masquerade and Live Shots remain excellent albums in their own right, this is a superb collection, capturing the excitement of Ely's music and offering a definitive introduction to his peak years.
