At least two minutes pass before you hear vocals on "Spread Love"; there's a long, unnecessary intro created for the disco era.
Al Hudson leads a masterful rendition of the O'Jays' "You and I," sounding as dramatic but not nearly as powerful as
Eddie Levert. "Small Talk" is a good indication of what was coming in the future when the group evolved into the funky disco sounds of One Way; though not riveting, its disco ambience, percolating bass, chanting lyrics, and hand-clapping keeps you interested.
Kevin McCord (who also plays bass) give you chills when he sings "Lost Inside of You" in one of the coolest falsettos ever recorded. A live studio feel flavors "How Do You Do," which sounds like the stuff
Kool & the Gang recorded before James (J.T.) Taylor joined. A solid outing from the self-contained Detroit natives.
