Metro's 2003 compilation Essential Shalamar is a 13-track collection of early highlights from the group. This may not have all their hits -- everything from the mid-'80s on is missing, for instance -- but it's a good cross-section of their earliest recordings, including "Right in the Socket," "The Second Time Around," "A Night to Remember" and "Dead Giveaway."
