Album Review

The actual "rock" aspect of this collection is dubious, but Hot Country Rock, Vol. 1 does contain 10 great tracks recorded for Epic Records in the late '70s and early '80s including "Big City" by Merle Haggard, "On the Road Again," Willie Nelson, "There Ain't No Good Chain Gang," by Johnny Cash & Waylon Jennings, "Tennessee Whiskey," George Jones, and "The Ride," David Allan Coe. Probably the most "rock" tune of the set would be "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by the Charlie Daniels Band. While the title is a misnomer, the collection has decent sound and is available at a budget price.
