Born and raised in New Orleans as the daughter of a DJ/preacher father and singer/songwriter/producer mother, Lisa Angelle gained an appreciation for a wide range of musical styles, which she funneled into her country music songwriting. Penning songs for some of country music's greats, including Wynonna Judd, Trisha Yearwood, Kathy Mattea, and Tanya Tucker, she released a self-titled album of her own in 2000.
