The Bystanders
The Bystanders began as a recording project in 2009 by brothers, Judd and Davin Stachoski. The response from Community Radio support and excitement over the demo prompting the formation of the band. Corey Rheindel and Nathan Streifel on bass and drums, respectively, round out the line up.
In the past years, the band has had success in several live venues in Regina, such as O'Hanlons, McNally's, The Exchange and others. The Bystanders have attracted a loyal fan base in the city and have proved to generate a good draw at local shows. Highlights include being the closing band at Regina's biggest St Patricks Day party at O'Hanlon's, opening for prominent Canadian acts, Paper Lions, Library Voices and most recently, Hey Ocean!. The Bystanders are also proud to be part of this years line up at The Gateway Festival.
The band worked with WCMA nominated producer J.J. Voss on their self-titled 3 song EP in 2010. Currently, The Bystanders are nearing completion of their 2nd effort, titled, "Old Love", recorded and produced by Orion Paradis of SoulSound Studios in Regina, for release in July of 2012.
The Bystanders fuse folk, bluegrass and country arrangements and instrumentation with rock and pop melodies, creating a sound the band has deemed, "prairie fresh".
