The Ox Knows!
February 25, 2010 - 10:25pm.
Don't you hate it when you know a secret and you're dying to tell someone? Anyone! But you can't! Then you'll understand my situation and appreciate the manner in which I've dealt with it.
Do These Shoes Make My Feet Look Fat?
February 16, 2010 - 8:58pm.
Tyler Veronelly and I recently conquered that lean mean tobogganing machine of a hill by Walmart. We wanted to set out to do something else that had Saskatchewan winter spelled all over it. So we decided to embark upon the great snowshoe challenge. We're almost there!
The Dixie Chicks Spin-Off
February 11, 2010 - 7:28pm.
A few weeks ago, I was talking about how Marti and Emily from the Dixie Chicks were reportedly making an album without Natalie Maines, ironically with Natalie Maines' dad. On Tuesday, I got an email from a friend in Toronto, with a link to a new band I'd never heard of before, called the Courtyard Hounds.
Yup, it's the Dixie Chicks spin-off...click HERE to meet and hear the Courtyard Hounds. And feel free to let me know what you think!
Aunty Tia is a Wimp
February 4, 2010 - 10:14am.
The other night, I had a chance to meet up with my sister at Chuck E Cheese for my niece's 5th birthday. I had never experienced the power of cheese before, so it was an eye opener in more ways than one. But as a parent, I can understand why it's so popular. It's fun, there's lots for the kids to do and it keeps them from fighting with one another, because they're so focused on playing every game possible.
Aunty Tia also took one of the "rides" with Bailey
Prairie Oysters....mmmmm
February 3, 2010 - 10:55am.
Totally made you look didn't I?? Ha ha...
Well now that I have your attention...coming up on Tuesday I'll be talking to Russell DeCarle from Prairie Oyster, coming to the Casino Regina Show Lounge on Friday, February 12th.
Any questions you've always wanted to ask Prairie Oyster?
If so, fire them off to me: tdaniels@bigdog927.com

The Great Earmuff Debate
January 28, 2010 - 7:13pm.
They're a fashion faux pas, yet incredibly practical. Do I own a pair? I sure do not! Should I own a pair? Maybe?? Between 5 women, this is the great earmuff debate.
Better Than The Cat in the Hat
January 25, 2010 - 11:44pm.
If you're one of my Facebook friends or in my Facebook Group, you've likely seen the adventures of my crazy cat Bazil. I'm convinced he wants to join the circus as a Trapeze cat when he grows up. It's not uncommon for him to jump up on the top of a door and teeter over the edge just hanging out. Then he started randomly jumping up on my shoulder out of the blue and just sits there. Sunday, that took a new twist for Bazil the Bizarro.
Belly Flop!
January 24, 2010 - 2:16pm.
Today I threw on the long johns and toque and got ambitious. While you were inside having a snow day, what was this crazy lady with A.D.D. doing? Take a look...
My O.C.D - the Prequel
January 14, 2010 - 11:12pm.
You already know that I have this O.C.D'ish thing about colour coding the clothes in my closet. But it's not the only thing I colour code...
Is this an Omen or a Sign?
January 13, 2010 - 9:09pm.
A few weeks ago when driving down a street late night heading home, I came across a rabbit standing in the middle of the road. So I slowed down hoping it would scare off and I could be on my merry little way. This darn rabbit just took it's time hopping along on the street in front of me, all the while i'm getting a little annoyed. Here I am trying to avoid running this thing over and it's messing with me! Finally it scurried off to the side and into a yard and was gone.
Then tonight, same thing. Another rabbit standing on the side of the street looking like it was going to cross the road. So I stop and wait for it ( does that sound stupid?) again not wanting to run a rabbit over. Stupid thing just stands there and looks at me. So i inch forward a little bit thinking it'd scare off. It didn't! So I honk my horn...which on VW's sounds like a whoopee cushion ( I look forward to the day I come across a Moose on the road and blast it with my horn ). Finally the horn set this little rabbit on it's way.
Then I get to thinking, "that's two rabbits within a couple of weeks, is this a sign or something?". So I looked it up and apparently Rabbits mean "fertility and new life, to look for new things in your life within 28 hours, days or weeks".
I'm not sure whether to be happy about this or scared...lol. Darn you wascally wabbit!
Dixie Chicks minus Natalie Maines?
January 12, 2010 - 9:14am.
It's a sad day, but a move that doesn't surprise me, if you've ever seen the movie "Shut up and Sing". Looks like there's a new Dixie Chicks cd coming out, without Natalie Maines. Being a bluegrass fan though, i'm excited to hear the musicianship that Emily and Marti are so good at!

My New Love Interest
January 7, 2010 - 6:11pm.
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I can't keep it a secret anymore. And I'm sure I'll have to fight to keep him...
Wanna Hang Out?
January 6, 2010 - 6:55pm.
Did I get your attention? Ha ha cool!
I wanted to find a way to work this thing they call Social Media machine and further be able to interact with listeners and fans of the station and Big Dog 92-7 mid-days! I'm a huge fan of Facebook, which is such a great platform to be able to do so. So, I've created a personal new "Tia" page that I'd love to have you join.

January 4, 2010 - 9:02pm.
Meet my friends Happy and Buzz as they weigh in on the whole "Eh Oh Canada Go" chant that's sweeping (she says loosely) the nation.
Blue Moon of Regina Keep on Shinin'
December 31, 2009 - 9:56pm.
It's New Years Eve, but it's also an occasion marked by something that happens maybe every 19 years or so - a Blue Moon falling on a New Years Eve. Wanna see...
Do you Colour Code?
December 22, 2009 - 2:51pm.
I have a confession. I have a self diagnosed case of OCD. You too?
Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder
December 21, 2009 - 1:39pm.
The other day I was driving up Pasqua and lo and behold something caught my eye so much that I stopped and turned around to go see it up close and personal.
I present to you - The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of All Christmas Trees!
Box in the Closet Memories
December 18, 2009 - 1:06am.
Tonight was a trip down memory lane all the way back to when I was a kid with a little visit to my "Box in the Closet". What's in the box? Well how bout pictures of Toby Keith and Shania Twain before they got really big...
Santa Baby!
December 16, 2009 - 9:14am.
Over the weekend I won a new video camcorder at our Christmas party, and it's been so much fun to play with! I've been doing daily webisodes and posting them on my Facebook page, but wanted to share the one with you that is going to take my reputation to an all new place.
Ladies and gentleman, appearing for one night only with her rendition of Santa Baby, please welcome...Tia Daniels!
Oysters and Pig Spleens have something in common!
November 19, 2009 - 9:24am.
Monday night I was in Toronto walking down Queen Street with my friend Brianne, talking about Saskatchewan. She's an Ontario girl so she was somewhat amused at my story about a guy from Tompkins named Gus, who used a pig spleen to predict the weather. In fact, I'm pretty sure she thought I was just pulling her leg.
Since then, i've done some research on Gus and learned a little bit myself. Including the fact that apparently pig spleen has something in common with Oysters.

Wagon "mini" wheels
October 28, 2009 - 10:45pm.
When I was a kid, I used to love getting Wagon Wheels in my halloween bag. They were king! But the good ol' days are gone it seems. The marshmellow inside is now this rubbery oily slime goo. And, can we really call them a "Wheel" when they're seemingly half the size they used to be??? Albeit for twice the amount you used to pay for them!
Wow, I just sounded like my parents. I guess i've finally grown up after all. Happy Halloween!
FYI on H1N1 Clinics in Regina
October 27, 2009 - 10:18pm.
I promise not to be one of those people ranting about the H1N1 Flu. Obviously, whether you get the vaccine shot for it is completely an individual choice. Instead, I present to you some useful information about upcoming clinics in the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region. Their site is seemingly quite user friendly, and reflects our local action plan.

Take the Old Record Off the Shelf...
October 21, 2009 - 4:58pm.
I recently got the news that my dad is soon going to be moving out of the old farmhouse we grew up in back in Alberta. So before we get too deep into winter, my sister and I have to make the trip back home to gather up any belongings we may have in the house. I don't know that I have much there anymore, but I know there's a box in the closet with an autograph book that includes a signature from (laugh all you want) Tiffany, who I met at the West Edmonton Mall once. So I want to grab it.
I also have my collection of records from when I was a kid that would be a shame not to get my hands on as well. There's 4 in particular that were my absolute faves when I was a teenager. Any guesses what they were?
I'm curious to see what you'll come up with...
Toes - of the Tia type
October 19, 2009 - 7:41pm.
Every year at Christmas, guaranteed, I'm going to get a bundle of new socks from my sister. And I'm ok with that. I freakishly wear through socks like nobody's business, so my sister pretty much knows that socks is likely one of my "what Tia needs" items. But as i'm folding laundry tonight, frowning on having to say goodbye to one of my favourite pair of beige socks, I couldn't help but want to pay tribute to those soldiers of walking wars.
Yup...it's been a slow news day. But at least I didn't put my cat in a mushroom shaped helium balloon and call CNN. And you thought I was the boring one here at Big Dog 92-7 ha ha!

Garth Low Down
October 19, 2009 - 5:57pm.
I had a call today over the lunch hour about getting tickets for the Garth shows coming up in Vegas.

Mt. Daniels
October 14, 2009 - 5:20pm.
You may have heard me babbling today about my lovely eruption of two cold sores in one day, one on the top lip, the other on the bottom. A friend told me to put hand sanitizer on them as a remedy, however, more than one person called or emailed and said NO HAND SANITIZER! That'll make them scar apparently.
I've tried other "suggested" ideas on previous cold sores...toothpaste, hair-spray, poly-sporin, and yup, have even done the "let's freeze it with some frozen meat from the freezer" trick.
But back to the hand sanitizer thing - at this rate I should never get the flu right? Just sayin...
Two Steppin' doozy from Shane Yellowbird
October 7, 2009 - 4:35pm.
Last year at the CCMA's in Winnipeg, I went to an EMI Music showcase that included Shane Yellowbird performing. He did this cool song with something about bare feet and black tops that I loved from the minute I heard it. Since then, I've been patiently waiting for this song to come out and sure enough today, I came across this brand new video from Shane for "Barefeet on the Blacktop" .
Cool thing about this, snippets of it were shot at the Craven Country Jamboree, so you might even see someone you know! Kinda reminds me of a Garth crossed with Joe Diffie kinda tune!

What's it like winning a CCMA?
September 22, 2009 - 9:02pm.
Back on September 13th, Crystal Shawanda won the "Female Vocalist of the Year" at the CCMA's in Vancouver. What was it like having that camera in your face just as they announce your name? Is it a little nerve wracking winning an award and performing in front of Reba McEntire and Martina McBride? And was she ever worried about falling on her face?
Those answers and more with Crystal Shawanda Wednesday afternoon at 12:30ish during the All Request Lunch Box on Big Dog 92-7!
Pushing My Cat's Buttons
September 1, 2009 - 3:49pm.
As human beings, there are things that drive us crazy. How many times have you found yourself full of road rage as an example? Pets, they've got their breaking points too, as I found out recently with my cat Bazil, who's normally a teddy bear.

Country Cover
August 17, 2009 - 8:23pm.
One of my fave country songs of all time is Deric Ruttan's "When you Come Around" which I can listen to over and over. Recently, Canadian duo One More Girl, who you may recall opened for Johnny Reid back in April, starting adding the song to their setlist for shows
