Our good friend Tia Daniels has some pretty serious jaw surgery last week, right now, she's sitting at home with her jaw wired shut. I told her before she left, that I'd be calling her to check on her.

I wanna tell you about a good friend of mine. Mark WALKeR. First off...ever since I met the guy, he insisted on that ridiculous spelling of his last name...don't ask me why!? I met Mark 5 years ago, at radio school (a.k.a Radio, Television, Broadcast News @ SAIT in Calgary)
At first...Mark was a guy that I made fun of. He had that "small town swagger" and was proud to call himself a Nickleback fan. But after a while...I realized this dude was a lot like me. We laughed at the same stupid things...we LOVED a brutally bad pun...and we had terribly obnoxious laughs.
During the next year and a half...Mark and I became really good friends. The rest of our class even made fun of us, saying we had "man-crushes" on each other. My wife Kelly especially ;) Even though we've both moved around a little since then, we've always kept in touch...and when we talk, or catch up...it's like nothing's changed...we'd be right back into our rhythm.
I got the call about 8:45 last night. Mark died this weekend in a car crash. He was 24.
It's the kind of news that makes you question a lot of things. One thing it doesn't make me question, is that Mark WALKeR was one of the best friends I'll ever have in my lifetime. He was a good dude. Always positive, enthusiastic, he was always smiling...loved a dirty, disgusting joke. He was so full of energy and full of life.
I can't even believe I'm writing about my buddy in the past tense.
He's gone...but I've got hours and hours of great memories, from great times I had with him...and I'll hang on to every single one.
To be honest...I could care less if anyone ever reads this...I just feel I need to put these words down...
Mark...I'm sorry...I'll miss you...damn. I'll never forget you my friend. Here's to making ear babies wherever you are.

In a lot of ways..country music is a place some people think they can just "go"
Bon Jovi crossed over in 2006, they got a number one song out of it, with Who Says You Can't Go Home.
It kinda started a tidal wave...everyone from the Eagles, Jewel, Jessica Simpson and the lead singer from Hootie And The Blowfish all started jumping into country music. We know it went well for Darius Rucker, as for the rest...not as much.
Well...behold the next performer gone country! She's not even known as a singer, she's a professional wrestler!

Over the past few weeks, I've made a couple of videos showing some of the things I do when I'm working late, here @ Big Dog. One thing's for sure, I'm always singing along with the songs on the radio. The problem is...I can't sing...so I thought I'd give lip synching try ;)
I've always had a philosophy...if you cant make someone laugh, maybe you get get them to laugh at you. I hope to accomplish both in the next 97 seconds.

My Wife's Birthday
Yesterday was my wife Kelly's Birthday. I have to say, I did everythingright. I surprised her with exactly what she wanted (a Super Mario Brothers Nintendo Wii game) I took her out for lunch (Boston Pizza on South Albert, it's real nice, it's just been renovated)
BUT there's one thing I didn't do. (duh duh duh)
I didn't write Happy Birthday on her Facebook wall.
And she called me out on it.
She was like "So you uploaded a video, wrote something to your friend Hung's wall, but you didn't write Happy Birthday on my Facebook wall? What's up with that!?"
Can you believe that? And so my love/hate relationship with Facebook continues...
